The multi-award winning Boolarra Folk Festival is unique to Gippsland. It is the only free folk festival that is an all-day event and is staged in one of the most beautiful parks in Gippsland! Our 17th festival is sure to be a fantastic day.

About the Festival

The Music Stage
The Music Stage is located in Centenary Park and will feature free music from 11 am to around 8 pm. The Boolarra Community Hotel runs an Alcohol Tent and Enclosure near the Skate Park. Alcohol bought in this area must be consumed in this area. B.Y.O. Alcohol may be consumed in Centenary Park but otherwise please observe the alcohol and smoke free areas.
The Information Tent
The Information Tent is located near the stage. Please feel free to make any enquiries here. In 2019 our fine Boolarra Folk Festival Wine will be for sale throughout the day at the Boolarra Folk Festival Wine Tents which are located in Railway and Centenary Parks. As with all our merchandise, proceeds from Boolarra Folk Festival Wine sales go towards funding next year’s festival. Please also see our Information Tent for T-shirts, Programs, Stubby Holders and Stickers, or give a gold coin donation. Tickets for our raffle (prizes revealed on the day) are also available at the Information Tent. So please help us keep the festival free and buy some merchandise!
Market & Food
There will be a delicious range of food available to purchase in the food court at the market, including vegetarian and gluten free options.
Acoustic buskers are welcome to perform in Railway Park. No amplification allowed.
PLEASE NOTE: Dogs must be on leads at all times.
Drumming Circle
Steve Schultz will be running a drum circle program at this year’s festival. He will set up in the Boolarra Memorial Hall and will run one afternoon session from 1.30-2.30 pm. Entry is free. If weather is bad, the drum circle will be held in the Multipurpose Building on the corner of Church and Irving Streets.
BOOLARRA FOLK FESTIVAL LAUNCH
The Boolarra Folk Festival will kick off with a pre-festival launch at ARC Yinnar on Friday 1st of March with music from 7 pm to 11 pm, $12 entry fee, BYO supper. Drinks available at bar prices. Phone ARC Yinnar 51 631 310 for bookings, tickets also available at the door.

One of the features of the Boolarra Folk Festival is the opportunity for visitors to bring a tent, caravan or even a swag and just camp out at the Football Ground or out on the grounds of the Boolarra Pub. Showers and toilets will be supplied at the Football Ground and also electric bbq facilities. There will be no fee for camping at either venue so this is a great opportunity to bring along the whole family and enjoy the peace and tranquility of our lovely village.
There are also bed and breakfast facilities in Boolarra and at the nearby Hazelwood Pondage Caravan Park for your use at very reasonable rates.
